WORKSHOP  OVERVIEW

Ken helps Cheri with layout of her information on a wine glass, one of the numerous projects each student completes during the class.

BE A VERY  RARE BIRD!

Only about 570 people in 23 years have come from as far away as Seoul, South Korea, Dubai, Argentina, Canada, Hawaii, and all over the continental U.S. to learn this amazing skill and how to create a great service in personalizing items for gifts and recognitions.

This Workshop prepares you to hit the ground running the day you get home.

WHEN DID THE KEN BROWN ENGRAVING WORKSHOP BEGIN?

The first Workshop was in 2001.  We have now conducted 116 Workshops. Each produced engravers who do the kind of work I do.

BIGGEST MIND-BLOCK MOST PEOPLE HAVE

They have the mindset that one must be talented in art, have pretty handwriting, or be an experienced Calligrapher to learn this.  None of that is true.

WHAT'S THE 'SECRET SAUCE?'

What I teach in this Workshop is exactly how I self-taught and what took me over a year to accomplish, with a long history of doing and teaching Calligraphy.  In this Workshop I share all my methods and techniques for making beautiful letters quickly and easily.  One style.  Simple.  Elegant. Easy to learn.

It's developing muscle memory in your hand; muscle memory is what makes your handwriting the same every time you write with a pen or pencil.  Muscle memory is what enables you to tie your shoelaces with no conscious thought of the process.

NO NATURAL ART TALENT NEEDED

It does NOT require any special 'gift' of art talent, experience in Calligraphy, or pretty handwriting.  As long as you have no infirmities with nerves and hands, you CAN do this!  And good enough that people will pay the kind of figures I talk about here!

BARE BONES PAY IS $100. PER HOUR FOR MOST.  OFTEN,  MUCH MORE!

If you have a need, a desire, an urge to do something creative, by its very simplified nature, this is a unique opportunity. People earn an extra stream of income that can easily equal a rate of one hundred dollars...or more....per hour.

DO IT ON THE KITCHEN TABLE

You can do it all at your kitchen table or any small area where you have an electrical outlet, a chair, good light, and a table surface.  You can earn handsome fees.  Yours will look great and the more you do, the better you get!

LEARN HOW TO PRICE THE WORK

We talk about marketing your new skill on a shoestring.  You learn how to not be timid about pricing....and what to charge for a variety of items to get you started. People are eager to pay for personalization.  Most people have no idea that many of their unique gifts can even BE personalized!

TYPICAL BUSINESSES NEED INVENTORY,  AN OFFICE,  AND EMPLOYEES

Not so for hand-engraving! Unlike a typical service business, you need NO inventory of products.  Customers bring the items you engrave. Hand-engraving for the public generates income at a rate that will overshadow almost any legal endeavor to earn with a one-time investment. It takes a three day Workshop, equipment, and a few project items.  Lots of discussions during Q & A and critiquing sessions where each student's work is shown and critiqued in front of the entire class.  Beneficial for everyone!

YOU'LL NEED BUSINESS CARDS AND A SIMPLE WEB SITE TO BE FOUND

The two things that require modest additional expenditures:  Burs and business cards.  I spend about $200. annually for burs....'bits' for the drill.  For business cards, I spend several hundred dollars about every 24 months, to get my small foldout card, that is really more of a full-color mini-brochure, that every customer gets with the engraved item I do for them.  Yours can be a simple two-sided or four-sided card and be quite effective.

Send a request for a copy of my unique card.
